Speyside Whisky Discovery Tour
Our Speyside whisky discovery tour begins from Inverness with a visit to Benromach which has just three distillers handcrafting their single malt whisky. After a distillery tour you enjoy a tutored tasting from the range of Benromach malts. Next we visit Glenfiddich where you enjoy a light lunch at the distillery cafe including tastings from their Malt Bar. We end the day with an afternoon visit to Glenlivet where you take a distillery tour that includes a dram from a cask in the warehouse followed by two more tastings in their dramming room.

Tour Option - Red Door Gin tour at Benromach
Benromach whisky tour can be changed to a Red Door Gin tour and tasting (for all or just some of your group while others take the whisky tour). The price for a Red Door Gin tour at Benromach is £10 per person including a signature Red Door tasting. We slightly reduce the time at the other distilleries to allow for this option and start later at 9.30am from Inverness. Please request in advance as the gin tour has to be pre-booked and is not available every day.
Tours are exclusively for your private group only (up to 3 persons) and prices are per tour. We only offer private tours and do not combine individuals or separate groups - if your group size is less than 3 the advertised tour price still applies. Prices include all taxes and a driver/guide (John Alasdair Macdonald) but exclude entrance fees, distillery tours and tasting fees (listed above) and meals.
This tour is based on two standard distillery tours along with a third distillery for tastings only. We have listed our recommended itinerary based on experience, previous clients feedback and timings. However, should you prefer to adapt the tour to visit other distilleries (instead of those listed) then please feel free to contact us with your preferred options - we can also visit Macallan, Cardhu, Aberlour, Cragganmore or Glenfarclas.
Throughout the tour we travel through the wonderful scenery of the East Highlands and depending on how long we are at the distilleries we may have time for a few brief sight-seeing breaks during the tour or even add in another distillery tasting!
Due to distillery closures on Saturdays and Sundays (particularly outwith the summer months) an alternative itinerary may be recommended depending on your requested tour date.
Distilleries have a silent season when there is no whisky production for a number of weeks (generally during the summer months). Distillery tours still operate but without production in the background.
Advance payment is required for most distillery tour fees. Please note that this tour is not suitable for children (under 18s).
Tours from November to March
The Highlands are renowned for changeable weather, even over the summer months. However, from November to March, poor weather conditions (wind, rain and snow) are more common and daylight hours are reduced (particularly from mid-November to mid-February). For tours during this period we may return to Inverness in darkness. The itinerary and timings may be changed at short notice to adapt to weather conditions, and on very rare occasions tours may be cancelled due to severe weather.
