Isle of Skye Whisky Tour from Inverness

A great day of mountains, lochs, glens and castles on the way through stunning Highland scenery to the Isle of Skye and ending with a wonderful tour and tasting at Talisker Whisky Distillery.

The Isle of Skye Whisky tour begins at Inverness where we follow the banks of Loch Ness down past Urquhart Castle to Invermoriston before turning west through Glen Moriston on the way to Loch Cluanie and Glen Shiel. Before arriving at Eilean Donan Castle we take a short detour up Carrbrae for a stunning view of Loch Duich and the Five Sisters of Kintail mountains.

Eilean Donan Castle, Scottish Highlands

At Eilean Donan Castle we explore its ancient past with time for a visit into the castle to discover its secrets (and enjoy an early lunch) before we cross the bridge to the Isle of Skye, where the spectacular Cuillin mountains greet us in the distance. Our journey through the Isle of Skye takes us to the base of the Red Hills and the dramatic Black Cuillin mountain ridge. We stop near the old bridge at Sligachan (great place to take a short walk) where we get the best view of the peaks of the Black Cuillin.

Here you have the opportunity to enjoy a dram (or two) at the Talisker bar before you take a one hour whisky tour and discover the secrets of Scotland's best export! The whisky tour finishes with a final tasting dram of Talisker Single Malt Whisky before we begin our journey back to Inverness!
