Highland Adventure Tour inc. Eilean Donan Castle from Inverness

Discover a wonderful flavour of the Scottish Highlands with a great tour of beautiful scenery and ancient history that includes Loch Ness, Glen Shiel, the Five Sisters of Kintail, Rogie Falls and Eilean Donan Castle.

Our tour begins at Inverness where we follow the banks of Loch Ness down past Urquhart Castle. After a short stop for photos near Loch Ness, we continue along Ness-side to Invermoriston. Turning west we journey through Glen Moriston on the way to Loch Cluanie and Glen Shiel. We then take a short detour up Mam Ratagan for a breath-taking view of the Highlands and a wonderful panorama of Loch Duich overlooked by the Five Sisters of Kintail.

Arriving at Eilean Donan Castle, the ancestral home of the Clan Macrae, we have over two hours to explore the castle’s ancient and historic past as well as savouring the wonderful Highland views around the castle. Leaving Eilean Donan Castle we take a detour across to Dornie for a stunning distance view of the castle.

Our return to Inverness takes us along the beautiful Loch Carron and through Achnasheen before arrving at Rogie Falls for a woodland walk and visit to the suspension bridge over the Black Water river. From June to September it may be possible to catch the salmon leaping the main falls and fish ladder. After exploring Rogie Falls it is just a short drive back to Inverness.

** Off Season Touring
The Highlands are renowned for changeable weather, even over the summer months. However, from November to March, poor weather conditions (wind, rain and snow) are more common and daylight hours are reduced (particularly from mid-November to mid-February). For tours during this period we may return to Inverness in darkness. The itinerary and timings may be changed at short notice to adapt to weather conditions, and on very rare occasions tours may be cancelled due to severe weather.
