Our whisky tour departs from Inverness as we journey 1½ hours through Speyside to Glenfiddich distillery. Here you take the Glenfiddich 'Explorer' tour before enjoying a tasting of 4 Glenfiddich malts - their 12, 15 and 18 year old malts along with a Rich Oak malt.
After a light lunch in the Glenfiddich Malt Barn Cafe we visit the famous Macallan distillery for tastings (no tour). Macallan offer tasting drams from a wide range of their wonderful malts including their Sherry Oak and Fine Oak and Amber Series.
From Macallan we head south towards the Glenlivet distillery on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park. Here you take a Glenlivet tour that includes a cask strength tasting in the warehouse followed by a 15 and 18 year old tasting in their dramming room.
Leaving Glenfiddich we travel back through wonderful scenery and enjoy the stunning views of the East Highlands on our return to Inverness.
During the summer months most distilleries have a ‘silent season’ when there is no whisky production for a number of weeks. Distillery tours still operate as normal but without production in the background. 2017 dates for silent season for Glenlivet were from early June to late July; for Glenfiddich were from mid-June to early July; and for Macallan were most of July. Please note that 2018 dates should be relatively similar but are subject to change by the distilleries.
Please note that this tour is not suitable for children (under 18s).
