Isle of Skye Whisky Tour inc. Talisker Distillery
Enjoy a dram of whisky at the Isle of Skye’s only Malt Whisky Distillery - Talisker. Take a one day tour through the stunning scenery of the Scottish Highlands to the Isle of Skye and Talisker Distillery.
The Isle of Skye Discovery tour begins at Inverness where we follow the banks of Loch Ness down past Urquhart Castle to Invermoriston before turning west through Glen Moriston on the way to Loch Cluanie and Glen Shiel then past the Five Sisters of Kintail mountains. Loch Duich awaits us at the foot of the hills where we see the stunning Eilean Donan Castle in the distance where we take time to explore its ancient past and enjoy an early lunch.
Our tour through the Isle of Skye takes us to the base of the Red Hills where we take time to admire the stunning views before heading off to explore the magnificent Cuillin mountain range. We stop near the old bridge at Sligachan where we get a great view of the peaks of the Black Cuillin.
Leaving Sligachan we head for Talisker Whisky Distillery by the banks of Loch Harport. Here you have the opportunity to take a 1 hour whisky tour and discover the the secrets of Scotland's best export! The whisky tour finishes with a wonderful dram (a Scots word for a measure of whisky) of Talisker Single Malt Whisky.
After you have enjoyed Talisker Distillery we begin our journey back to Inverness arriving back in the early evening. We have 2 long stops on the tour for around 1½ hours each - at Eilean Donan Castle (mid morning and early lunch) and Talisker Distillery (mid-afternoon). Additionally we have at least 6 viewpoint and photo stops between 10 and 15 mins.
Sign up and register for Friends of Classic Malts and you can download and print out a voucher giving free entry to Talisker Distillery. Please note that this must be done in advance of the tour date and a printed copy of the pass is required for entry.
During the summer months most distilleries have a silent season when there is no whisky production for a number of weeks. Distillery tours still operate but without production in the background.
Please note that this tour is not suitable for children (under 18s).
