Only a short distance from Culloden are the Bronze Age burial cairns and standing stones of Clava. These are one of the finest examples of ancient burial cairns that we have in the Scottish Highlands and date back over 4000 years giving us a fascinating glimpse of the very ancient past of the Highlands.
Leaving the Clava Cairns we journey towards the scenic village of Drumnadrochit and visit the nearby medieval ruins of Urquhart Castle. Here you have time to explore the castle, discover its links with so many of the important events in the history of the Highlands, and take advantage of its fantastic viewpoints looking out across Loch Ness.
After Urquhart Castle we travel along the banks of Loch Ness on our return to Inverness.
