Terms and Conditions for The Hebridean Explorer Tours

Tour Prices

Initial tour prices are based on your private group only of up to 5 people. For a larger private group of 6 to 8 people, additional charges need to be added to the initial tour price.      

Tour prices do not include entrance fees, meals and accommodation.

For Multi-Day and Tailor Made Tours any extra travel cost (ferries, etc) will be clearly show in tour quotes and reservation confirmation forms.

Please note that we do not sell individual or separate group tickets for tours. Tours are for your private group only

Booking and Payment

A 20% non-refundable deposit is required for all tour bookings.

Full payment for a booked tour is required 4 weeks before the tour start date.

For tour bookings with less than 4 weeks before tour start date, full payment is taken on booking.

Payment is by credit or debit card (most major cards accepted - except American Express)

There are no extra charges added for payment by credit card. (Although you may incur charges from your credit card provider)

Cancellations / Changes by The Hebridean Explorer

The Hebridean Explorer undertakes to fulfill all tours as booked but reserves the right to cancel, change or curtail a tour due to unforeseen circumstances, illness, injuries or events out with our control. In this case a full refund of all payments made to us by the client in respect of the tour will be an end to any obligation on our part. Our liability for costs or inconvenience if we fail to complete a tour is limited to the total value of the tour purchased. Alternative travel dates will be offered if possible. The Hebridean Explorer cannot be responsible for any other costs clients may incur such as flight, accommodation and travel expenses.

Please note that for Multi-Day Tours, no refunds can be given for tour changes resulting from ferry disruptions and cancellations.

Changes by Clients

We accept that unforeseen circumstances can also affect our clients and we will always try and accommodate a change of date for tour bookings. No charges will apply to tour date changes for One Day Tours if an alternative date is available. For Multi-Day Tours charges will only apply if The Hebridean Explorer has incurred extra accommodation costs in changing the tour dates. However, if we have no alternative date available then the cancellation charges listed below will apply.

Cancellations by Clients

If you cancel more than 15 days before the tour start date then a cancellation charge of 20% (of the total tour price) will apply.

If you cancel between 8 and 14 days before the tour start date then a cancellation charge of 50% (of the total tour price) will apply.

If you cancel within 7 or less days before the tour start date then a cancellation charge of 100% (of the total tour price) will apply

Failure to appear at an agreed tour start point and/or at an agreed start time will constitute a cancellation with no refunds given.

All cancellations must be made by email or writing and cancellations will be effective from the date we receive the written/email notification.  

We appreciate that clients may be forced to cancel booked tours due to unforeseen circumstances. We have made every effort to keep our cancellation charges as reasonable as possible. However, we strongly recommend that clients consider appropriate travel insurance with cancellation cover.  

Insurance and Liability

The Hebridean Explorer holds Public Liability Insurance along with Private Hire Insurance.

We strongly recommend that all clients arrange suitable travel, medical and cancellation insurance.

Tours

Tours itineraries will be as advertised/agreed however, The Hebridean Explorer reserves the right to change itineraries if weather, road, travel or ferry conditions require it.

Tours depart at advertised/agreed times and we request that groups arrive on time to ensure the most of their tour time.

Please note that we do not take children under 8 years on any of our tours.

Ferry Sailings

All ferry sailings are subject to weather conditions. Generally sailings are regular and punctual but occasionally there can be delays and cancellations (mainly due to weather conditions). The Hebridean Explorer is not responsible for any extra accommodation, food or other costs that clients may incur due to ferry delays and cancellations. No refunds will be given for tour and itinerary changes due to unforeseen ferry changes and cancellations. However we will do our best to help as much as possible in the unlikely event that such circumstances may arise.
