Loch Ness and Eilean Donan Castle Tour

Loch Ness and Eilean Donan Castle TourDiscover the mysteries of Loch Ness and find out why it has captivated so many people, with a great day tour from Inverness that not only takes you on a full circular tour of the Loch Ness but also includes a visit to one of the most famous castles in Scotland - Eilean Donan.

After leaving Inverness, our first stop is at Dores where you can walk along the pebble beach at Loch Ness and take photos looking down Loch Ness towards Fort Augustus.

We then follow along the banks of Loch Ness before we stop for a stunning view of the Monadliath Mountains (if you feel up to a short climb there is a great viewpoint nearby). At Fort Augustus take time to admire the Caledonian Canal and explore the village and enjoy a coffee stop. Departing Fort Augustus we follow Glen Moriston on the way to Glen Shiel and the five sisters of Kintail mountain range. The magnificent Loch Duich awaits us at the foot of the hills where we see the stunning Eilean Donan Castle in the distance.

At Eilean Donan Castle we have lots of time to explore the castle’s ancient and historic past before taking advantage of its facilities and enjoying  a late lunch and coffee stop. Our return journey takes us along to Invermoriston and then Drumnadrochit near the ancient ruins of Urquhart Castle. At a Drumnadrochit village we a have a brief stop before our return to Inverness
