Tour Information
Loch Ness Tour including Rogie Falls
Discover the mystery of Loch Ness, the medieval heritage of Urquhart Castle, the
bloody history of Culloden Battlefield and finish the tour with a beautiful woodland
walk along to the scenic Rogie Falls and the Black Water river below.
Our tour begins at Inverness where we take a short drive to Culloden Battlefield to explore the bloody history surrounding Bonnie Prince Charlie and his Jacobite supporters.
Only a short distance from Culloden are the Bronze Age burial cairns of Clava. These stone cairns are around 4000 years old and give us a fascinating glimpse of the very ancient past of the Highlands.
Leaving the Clava Cairns we journey 10 miles along the banks of Loch Ness before we arrive at the medieval ruins of Urquhart Castle. Here you have time to explore the castle, discover its links with so many of the important events in the history of the Highlands, and take advantage of its fantastic viewpoints looking out across Loch Ness. After the castle we visit the picturesque village of Drumnadrochit before we depart for the Rogie Falls.
Along the way we stop at the scenic village of Beauly where we visit the ruins of its medieval priory. At Rogie you have the opportunity to take a woodland walk and visit the suspension bridge over the Black Water river and its scenic views of the picturesque Rogie Falls. During June to September its may be possible to catch the salmon leaping the main falls and fish ladder.
Please note that the walk to Rogie Falls is along a rough track with some steep sections so decent footwear is recommended. We can supply walking poles for extra support if required.
