Ferry sailings are weather permitting but are generally very reliable in the summer months. Please note we cannot be responsible for any accommodation or food costs that may arise in the event of a delay. However we will make every effort to help in the unlikely event of any delays .

Travel Dates:

Please note that the itinerary listed is a guide and may change slightly depending on what day you wish to begin your journey. Any quote will give full details of timings and ferry sailings. Ferry sailings from  Ullapool are reduced on a Sunday and depart at different times each day from Tarbert. We do not recommend this tour during the winter months due to the increased risk of ferry delays.

Tour Information

Day 1 A early start from Inverness as we head towards the picturesque coastal village of Ullapool where we board the ferry for a journey of just under 3 hours across the Minch to the main town of Stornoway, on the Isle of Lewis. From there we spend the afternoon exploring the island’s rich history. Foremost on the tour is a visit to the magnificent Neolithic Standing Stones at Calanais and the Dun Carolway Broch - an ancient Iron Age atlantic roundhouse. Discover Hebridean history with a visit to a traditional blackhouse and learn about the Gaelic way of life with all its fascinating culture and traditions.

Day 2  Begins with time to explore the main town, Stornoway including its working harbour. Mid-morning see us depart for the Isle of Harris. Here we spend most of the day exploring some of the best sites on the Island with stops at Tarbert for a late lunch. We take a walk along one of the most the most breath-taking beaches in the Hebrides - Luskentyre - before visiting the beautiful medieval church at Rodel. St Clement’s church is home to the grave of a 16th Century Chief of the Clan MacLeod. Amongst all that we have lots of viewpoint and photo stops with plenty of opportunity to walk and enjoy the landscape.
